One night in Bangkok

After our crazy, crazy day out with the kids and the quickest of trips to Terminal 21 we had to get the kids to sleep before our babysitter came so we could meet one of our best friends for a night out on the town.  I decided to wear the second item I also purchased at Himma in the Thai designer wing of Terminal 21.  I fell for these terracotta silk shorts immediately because of the color and the attached belt.  They were perfect for a night out because the structured silk does not wrinkle and they have a dressed up casual look.  As an amazing bonus they were 50% off (approx 25 USD)  and in my size.  One of the depressing parts of shopping in south-east Asia is that I took a L or XL in the local boutiques!

I had all of about 2 minutes to decide on my outfit so I paired these shorts with a blue and white striped tank top, gold sandals and a lavender hair flower (both not pictured) and I will always love these shorts because of the wonderful time we had out that night! We basically had to go straight from a bar to the airport  but it was worth it.  Our friend lives in Bangkok so he showed us a great variety of nightlife there.   We had not seen each other since our Peace Corps days in Ghana and it was a great reunion.  The best part of friends you meet overseas is that the bonds don’t skip a beat; even after many years. So many of my greatest memories are tied to what I was wearing at the time (being a visual person) which might sound vain but it is the way it has always been for me.  Do you have a great memory made even better by the perfect outfit?
